This eLearning course will support hospitals, who provide maternity care, in updating their policies and procedures around infants born with substance use exposure.

Objectives
After completing this eLearning course, you will be able to:
- Identify key components of the updated legislation related to the Plan of Safe Care.
- Discuss the purpose and benefits of a Plan of Safe Care for infants with substance exposure and their caregivers.
- Describe your role as a care provider and demonstrate the ability to apply the Plan of Safe Care process with a patient or client.
- Identify the similarities and differences between the Plan of Safe Care DCYF pathway and the Community Based Pathway, and the circumstances appropriate for each.
- Describe how Help Me Grow Washington can support families and the unique approach of the Perinatal Substance Use Support Team
Continuing Education
Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)
Cardea Services is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this activity .75 contact hours will be awarded.
