This presentation aims to provide foundational and advanced knowledge of public health infrastructure concepts specifically tailored for Tribal Nations.
The recurring theme of this training is the commitment to healthy, vibrant tribal communities through sustainable public health infrastructure. The training is envisioned to be a comprehensive, engaging, and conversational session. Each module is accompanied by a study guide.

Who Should Take This Course
USET staff and all USET member Tribal Nation staff who interface with public health efforts, including but not limited to chronic disease prevention, maternal and child health, environmental health and clean water, emergency preparedness and response, behavioral and mental health, and infectious disease surveillance and response.
Objectives
After completing this eLearning course, you will be able to:
- Equip Tribal Nation staff with foundational and advanced knowledge of PHI concepts.
- Provide practical tools and strategies to strengthen Tribal public health systems.
- Foster peer-to-peer collaboration and knowledge-sharing among USET member Tribal Nations.
- Support alignment with USET’s vision of healthy, vibrant Tribal communities through sustainable public health infrastructure.

Dr. Charlotte Huntley brings over 25 years of experience in public health research, organizational development, and equity-centered consulting. Holding a PhD in Public Health Epidemiology and an MPH, she is recognized for her collaborative leadership, strategic
vision, and culturally humble, community-focused facilitation. Dr. Huntley has led initiatives advancing Tribal governance, Indigenous health equity, and sustainable capacity building through strategic planning and organizational development, all grounded in systems thinking and a deep respect for Tribal sovereignty and values.
