It is modified form a current course, How do I Help my Clients Make Changes to Improve Their Health? An Introduction to Motivational Interviewing for CHWs. It was modified to be more relevant to clinic staff who conduct HIV testing and status neutral navigation.
Who Should Take This Course
Any health care staff who work with clients on behavior change will benefit.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the training, you will be able to:
- Explain why behavior change is hard;
- Identify at least two skills to engage clients in a behavior change conversation;
- Recognize reflective listening statements that may motivate clients towards change.
