What are CSHE Networks?
In 2020, Senate Bill 5395 was passed by the Washington State Legislature, requiring all schools (public and charter) to provide CSHE, defined as recurring instruction in human development and reproduction that is age-appropriate and inclusive of all students, in grades K-12.
CSHE networks are professional learning communities that bring together key district administrators, school staff, and community partners. The networks support school districts to implement comprehensive sex education that is in compliance with state policy by providing a forum for sharing information and best practices, strategies, capacity building, and peer and technical assistance.
