FTN Screening Application

Course
Enrollment for this course is currently closed.

Apply to be considered for the Foundations of Testing and Navigation (FTN) 5-day course for staff who are new to conducting HIV testing in Texas.

Goal

The goal of the course is to provide Texas HIV Prevention Contractors who provide HIV testing as a part of their roles, with the skills needed to conduct a status neutral HIV prevention session with increased awareness of stigmatizing language/behaviors and unconscious bias.

Supervisors

Supervisors should allow learners work time and a work area with relatively few distractions to attend the live Zoom sessions and complete assignments. Supervisors must (virtually) sign an agreement within 3 days of staff becoming eligible for the course or staff may lose their spot. The full course will take up to 20 hours of learners’ time.

Audience

The DSHS funded-workforce in Texas who have been hired to perform testing and/or screening will be prioritized. Additionally, not more than 5 participants from any one organization will be admitted per training. If you will supervise testing/screening or have already completed a version of FTN, FTC or PBC you will be redirected to the one-day "FTN Update" course. We will cap attendance at 40 learners, so please complete the 2-part screening process as soon as possible so that we may determine eligibility and ensure you a spot in the course.
