About the Training

This session provides essential knowledge and skills for recognizing and responding to opioid overdose situations. Participants will learn how to identify the signs of an overdose and take appropriate action, including the use of naloxone (Narcan).

The training also introduces key concepts of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and highlights local and regional resources available for prevention, treatment, and recovery support. Emphasis is placed on improving community readiness and strengthening coordinated response efforts across sectors. 

Audience

People looking to support young people in substance use prevention, whether families and caregivers, or those working or volunteering in youth-serving organizations like schools, churches, health care, law enforcement, mental health, sports clubs, drug abatement programs, and more.

Format

This session will be conducted via Zoom. You will need a computer, microphone and speakers, or a headset to participate.
