About the Training
This training is the first in a five-part series and introduces key concepts related to opioid use and misuse among adolescents.
Participants will explore what opioids are, how they affect the body and brain, and current data trends related to substance use. The training highlights the unique risks opioids pose for youth and examines key signs of misuse, along with individual, family, and community risk and protective factors. Participants will also be introduced to practical strategies for prevention and early identification to support healthy youth development.
Audience
People looking to support young people in substance use prevention, whether families and caregivers, or those working or volunteering in youth-serving organizations like schools, churches, health care, law enforcement, mental health, sports clubs, drug abatement programs, and more.
Format
This session will be conducted via Zoom. You will need a computer, microphone, and speakers or a headset to participate.
