Talking with Teens About Contraceptives
Course
This is a follow-up to the "Working With Teens to Prevent Pregnancy: Starting the Conversation" course. Take this course to learn about the types of available contraceptives, and ways to start conversations with teenagers and young adults about what would work for them.
About this Independent Study
This course was launched in 2018. Updates were made in October 2022.
Once registered, you must complete the course within 150 days, or you will be deactivated. To be reactivated, contact us.
Who Should Take This Course
This course is designed for community health workers and community outreach/education staff. Other staff who work with teens and young adult clients, or who need an overview of contraception, will benefit.
Although it stands alone, this course may be more impactful if learners take the "Working With Teens to Prevent Pregnancy: Starting the Conversation" course first.
Objectives
At the end of this program, the CHW will be able to:
- Discuss ways to start a conversation about contraceptives
- List different kinds of contraceptives
- Explain where to go for more information about contraceptives
