Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will have an opportunity to:

• Code exemplar MI sessions for effective use of OARS
• Practice ‘Defusing Discord’ (formerly ‘Rolling with Resistance’)
• Practice OARS techniques in role plays, based on current skill (novice vs advanced)
• Practice crafting complex reflections for hypothetical client statements

Course Completion

• Learners are expected to complete all parts of the course, and attend for the full day, in order to receive your certificate of completion.
• The maximum number of participants is 10. If this course is full, please enroll in the next training.
• This course has a 1-hour prerequisite, Introduction to Motivational Interviewing, that must be completed prior to attending the live session. You can access this prerequisite course after enrolling. If you have already completed this course, you will not have to repeat it.

In-Person 2024 Session Dates: All sessions run from 9:00AM-5:00PM, Central Time

Each course will open about 37 days prior to the course registration deadline (1 week before the first day of training) to allow for prerequisite and training confirmation.
