Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Describe and demonstrate the "spirit" of MI
2. List at least 2 skills you can use to motivate clients towards behavior change
3. List 2 strategies for helping clients set SMART goals

What you will need:

• Internet connection
• Audio and video capability
• This training will be conducted over Zoom. Participants will view the computer screen and use their webcams and microphones to interact.
• You will need to download resources in order to participate in the session and receive credit. You can access the resources when you enroll.

Continuing Education: Community Health Worker

This course offers 4.0 hours of continuing education for Community Health Workers and Community Health Worker Instructors in Texas.

Competencies covered: Interpersonal– 2 hours, Capacity Building– 1.5, Teaching Skills–.5
